Almaty. July 29. Kazakhstan Today - 14 billion KZT has been allocated, according to the Republic of Kazakhstan governmental order, for construction of the first line of the underground in Almaty in the second half of 2009, the agency reports citing the press service of akim.

Akim of Almaty, Ahmetzhan Esimov, checked the course of performance of construction works of the first stage of the underground. The contractor is JSC Almatymetrokurylys.

According to the press service, 8.297 billion KZT was allocated and used in 2009.

According to the government development program of Almaty for 2003 - 2010, approved by the decree of the President of Kazakhstan, of February 10th, 2003 №1019, the underground construction is a strategically important object. According to the President's assignment, commissioning of the object is planned for 2010.
