Astana. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan highly appreciates strategic partnership with the USA. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said at the ceremony of presentation of credentials to a number of the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassadors including the USA, the agency reports.

"We highly appreciate the relations of strategic partnership with the USA," N. Nazarbayev said.

As he said, over the last years the USA and Kazakhstan have managed to achieve a high level of mutual understanding in questions of maintenance of international stability, energy security, non-distribution of weapons of mass destruction, struggle against international terrorism, extremism, and support of political reforms.

In the economic sphere, the leader of the state reminded that both countries have been working over realization of the new Kazakhstan-American initiative on state-private partnership aimed at diversification of the economy of Kazakhstan and attraction of the American business in non-raw sector.

"We held with the US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, extensive negotiations on a broad range of issues of mutual relations of the regional global agenda last time when she visited Astana. I hope, Mr. Ambassador, that your work will be directed at executing these arrangements," the President said addressing the US Ambassador, Richard Hoagland.

R. Hoagland noted that Kazakhstan is the strategic partner of the highest world level, especially in the field of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction." "Owing to far-sighted financial reforms, Kazakhstan has involved large foreign investments that have helped to lower the level of poverty and create growing middle class in the country," he said.

"My aim - to provide further growth and prosperity of already developed close partnership of Kazakhstan and the USA in the forthcoming years," he concluded.
