Almaty. September 1. Kazakhstan Today - The American President Barack Obama officially declared end of operations in Iraq, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

"Today, I declare that operations of the USA in Iraq are finished," B. Obama said on Tuesday evening in the television broadcast to the nation on the occasion of withdrawal of all American military units from this Arabian country. "The operation 'the Iraq Freedom' has been finished. The Iraq people now incur responsibility to maintain security in the country," he said. The appeal was broadcast from the Oval office of the White House.

According to B. Obama, this important step should serve "as a reminder to all Americans that we are creators of our future if we move forward with confidence and purposefulness." It should also "serve as a signal to the whole world that the United States of America intend to support and strengthen its leadership this century".
