Astana. August 24. Kazakhstan Today - The Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia, will visit Kazakhstan on August 27. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, said today during the briefing in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the agency reports.

According to Y. Ashikbayev, during the planned meeting with the country leaders, the officials will discuss cooperation issues between Kazakhstan and the UN Center regarding regional security.

"The officials will also discuss the questions connected with hydro-power issues, struggle against terrorism and extremism, development of the situation in the Central-Asian region, and the presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE," Y. Ashikbayev said.
