600-seat school opened in Kazakhstan's new Alatau city

A 600-seat school was commissioned in Enbek micro-district of Kazakhstan’s new Alatau city, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The facility was built under the Comfortable School national project.

First Deputy Governor of Almaty region Nurlan Abdrakhim participated in the opening ceremony. He said that three-shift learning and shortage of schools remain the major problem of the region’s education sector.

He added that 26 schools will be commissioned in the region in 2024 under the Comfortable School program. Four schools will be built by private investors and another two schools will be built at the expense of the local budget.

The new three-story building has modern classrooms, an inclusive center for children with special educational needs, workshops, a library, robotics and STEM laboratories, a gym, a canteen, and an assembly hall.
