Kazakhstan to invest over KZT 9 trillion in transport infrastructure
Development of the key transport infrastructure projects began in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

New airports will be built in 2025 in Katon Karagay, Zaisan and Kendirli resort areas in line with the Kazakh President’s tasks.

A large-scale project to improve Kazakhstan’s transport infrastructure will be completed by 2030. The total length of new highways will be 4,700 km, of which 3,700 will be first-class roads. Construction of roads will start this year. Over 9 trillion tenge will be invested in the development of the projects in total.

225 new carriages will be bought this year for the country's railways sector. The construction of railways under the Dostyk-Moiynty projects will increase traffic capacity by fivefold and ensure the smooth running of 12-60 train pairs. It is also planned to open the Dostyk-Beskol and Moiynty-Balkhash sections.

Construction of a container hub started at the Aktau port to bolster marine transport development and increase the port’s carrying capacity up to 240,000 TEU a year. It will help strengthen the country’s position in the international logistics arena and increase container transportation along the Middle Corridor via Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkiye and redirect cargo from China to Europe.
