The Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reviewed the results of the harvesting campaign. The ministers of agriculture, trade and integration, transport, as well as akims of a number of regions reported on the provision of farmers with quality seeds and mineral fertilisers, as well as the sale of agricultural products, including export markets, primeminister.kz reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this year the total harvested area of agricultural crops totalled 23.3 million hectares, of which 16.7 million hectares were sown with cereals. Field work has been completed by 99.7%. 26.5 million tonnes of grain have been threshed.
Head of the Government stressed that this year all the necessary conditions had been created for the successful conduct of spring field and harvesting works. Thus, the volume of preferential financing of the industry for the first time reached a record 580 billion tenge. These funds are directed to agrarians for direct lending, interest rate reduction and forward purchase. In 2025, the amount will reach 700 billion tenge. 120 billion tenge was attracted for leasing agricultural equipment, and farmers are provided with quality seeds and fertilisers. These measures allowed to achieve high results in all types of crops. In particular, a record sugar beet harvest is expected this year. In Zhambyl region the yield exceeded 700 centners per hectare.
This year, on the instructions of the Head of State, all necessary conditions have been created for timely and quality spring field and harvesting works. Now our main task is to preserve and realise the harvest. The Ministry of Agriculture together with regional akimats should ensure timely removal of grain from the fields, its drying and backfilling to elevators. All bread-receiving enterprises should switch to uninterrupted operation mode. It is important to control proper conditions of grain storage. Also, employees of phytosanitary service should exercise strict control over the quality of grain. Along with this it is necessary to provide 100% seed filling for the future harvest," Prime Minister said.
The Ministries of Trade and Agriculture have been set a task to sell the produced products. It is necessary to ensure grain supplies both to traditional markets - Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, and to new markets - Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia, where import growth is forecasted. It is planned to export about 12 million tonnes of grain from the new harvest. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport together with ‘Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’ should organise uninterrupted transportation and approve the exact schedule of rolling stock supply.
Olzhas Bektenov separately dwelled on the issue of providing farmers with fertilisers. The Ministry of Industry has been instructed to control the production of the required amount together with domestic producers, and Akimats are important to conclude contracts for supply in advance and ensure storage of stocks in warehouses. The plan on fertilizers for the regions for 2025 - up to 1.9 million tonnes.
Prime Minister focused attention on timely sowing and harvesting campaigns in 2025. The Ministry of Agriculture together with the holding ‘Baiterek’ has been instructed to start early financing of agrarians - from 1 December this year.
At the end of the Government session, the head of the Government thanked the agrarians for the timely completion of harvesting works.
As Head of State noted, Man of Labour is the wealth of the country! We have received a harvest of bread thanks to the hard and fruitful labour of our agrarians. I wish you success and prosperity!" Olzhas Bektenov emphasised.
