45 hectares of forest burned in Kostanay oblast
Kostanay. July 18. Kazakhstan Today - 45 hectares of forest burned in Kostanay oblast, Kazakhstan Today reports.
"July 17, 2012 in Sazymbay forestry of Mikhailovsk forestry institution a wildfire occurred in the area about 45 hectares. At 10.30 p.m. the same day, the employees of forest protection and the state fire service localized the fire", the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture informed.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, now measures are being taken for its complete elimination.
The ministry also explained that the cause of forest fires was lightning. At the same time a strong wind and high temperatures have contributed to the rapid spread of forest fires, and made it difficult to extinguish.
Personnel of Mikhailovsk forestry institution, fire department of Karabalykrayon, agriculture workers and local population were involved in fire fighting. Totally40 people, four fire engines, six tractors, and six water trucks were involved, the press-service said.
We recall that on July 16, 2012 a wild fire occurred near Kostanay town. The first signal about the fire in the forest was at 1.10 p.m. from the observation tower of the Altynsarino village of Kostanay oblast. It was reported that the fire extends from the water tower on the Municipal Utility Service Kostanay-Su to Auliekol route, the press service of the Governor of Kostanay oblast informed.
In fire fighting there were involved 16 fire trucks, including 11 cars for Department of Emergency Situations in Kostanay oblast, 5 cars from the Forestry of Kostanay oblast. Additionally, there were involved technology, experts from the utility service of Kostanay and forestry of Auliekol rayon.
The situation was exacerbated by many days of hot weather (approximately +40), and a southwest wind. By the time of extinguishing the fire area, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to about 20 - 22 hectares.
