ArselorMittal Temirtau works to isolate lava in Kuzembaev mine

ArselorMittal Temirtau JSC is working on isolation of lava in Kuzembaev mine that will allow resuming mining works in the near future. The head of the department of state control in coal industry of the Emergency Department of the Karaganda area, Stanislav Sytnik, informed at a briefing.

Karaganda. May 17. Kazakhstan Today - ArselorMittal Temirtau JSC is working on isolation of lava in Kuzembaev mine that will allow resuming mining works in the near future. Deputy head of the regional emergency situations department of the Karaganda area, Stanislav Sytnik, informed at a briefing.

"The works on isolation of lava 42K10-z are being carried out in Kuzembaev, which will be finished by the evening or tomorrow. Coal mining has not been resumed yet.

"The group for liquidation of the accident is working in the mine. The situation is under control," S. Sytnik said.

As already informed, 162 miners were evacuated from Kuzembaev mine on May 16 in connection with the increase of concentration of dioxide carbon. Mining works have been suspended.
