Repair works on Beineu-Aktau highway section completed by 70%
Astana. 17 April. Kazakhstan Today - Repair works on Beineu-Aktau highway section was completed by 70%. It became known during the working trip of Governor of Mangistau region Yeraly Tugzhanov to Karakiya district.
So, first of all, the Governor of the region got acquainted with the works on reconstruction of the Aktau-Zhetybai-Shetpe section of the Beineu-Aktau highway. The total length of the road is 170 kilometers. The funds of 36,335 million were allocated by the Asian Development Bank. The customer of the project is the Transport Committee of the Ministry for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan. According to the project, the Aktau-Zhetybai section is a road of the 1st category, four-lane, with a barrier fence in the middle. In the places of passage of three settlements - Beki, Zhetybai and Shetpe, lighting is provided. At the same time, a detour of the villages Zhetybai and Shetpe will be made. In addition, trestles with pavilions will be installed along the road. The investment project was financed by the Asian Development Bank. For this year, 7 billion 200 million tenge will be disbursed out of the total amount - 36 billion tenge.
"To date, we have done 70% of the work on the laying of asphalt concrete. 2 layers have already laid. Starting Monday, we have proceeded to the third. Kazakhstani materials are used in the construction. If earlier we imported Russian bitumen, then with the opening of the bitumen plant "KaspiBitum" this issue was decided in favor of the local supplier. Last year, about 45 thousand bitumen were purchased. This year it is planned to purchase about 25-30 thousand tons. Concrete products for the construction of bridge structures are imported from Aktobe and Almaty. Crushed stone is taken only from Shetpe. The project was begun in 2015. In October 2017, we will fully open traffic on the road", Murat Zeynabilov, a director of the branch in Aktau of the company "Cengiz Inshaat" said.
With regard to lighting in the project, the Governor of the region suggested to switch on the street lighting of the project into energy saving lamps that work on solar energy.
Also, the head of the region got acquainted with the progress of building of a hostel in the village of Kuryk, started in 2016 to accommodate those employed under the "Zhana Serpin" program. The hostel for 500 places, built at the expense of subsoil users, is planned to be commissioned in September 2017.
