Tajikistan President appealed for international help
Almaty. May 13. Kazakhstan Today - The extraordinary session of the government of Tajikistan devoted to liquidation of the natural disaster consequences in the Hatlon and Sogdiy areas took place the day before in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the agency reports citing the Tajik news agency Avesta.
The session participants were informed that 24 people died, about 200 have been injured, and more than 50 people are missing as a result of the natural disaster.
The natural disaster has caused damage to 12 cities and the country areas, in particular, the inhabitants of the Kulyab region of the Hatlon area. The natural disaster has destroyed more than 2 thousand apartment houses, social objects, 30 bridges, and ten kilometers of highways.
E. Rahmon condoled with those who lost their families on his behalf and on behalf of the country's government. "We will not leave the families who lost their loved ones and the suffered in the natural disaster. We will undertake all possible measures to liquidate the consequences of this natural disaster," he said.

Dead seals in Mangistau region: First expert conclusion published
A total of 289 сarcasses of dead seals were spotted washing ashore of the Caspian Sea in Tupkaraganskiy district. With the assistance of the local executive body, the carcasses were collected and transported to the landfill. In collaboration with the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology, toxicological and histological studies of the found seal carcasses were conducted. Samples of 112 seals were taken," the ministry stated.
We have taken samples of the coastal water from the location where the seal carcasses were discovered. The results will be available shortly, allowing us to determine the cause. Laboratory tests are currently underway," Yerlan Nyssanbayev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, said.
