Kazakhstan and Israel Join Forces in Green Technologies and Waste Recycling

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Israel Daulet Emberdiyev visited "The Hiriya Recycling Park", which covers needs for the municipal waste recycling of the Tel Aviv urban agglomeration area, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the visit the meetings with the CEO of the Dan Region Association of Towns Gil Livne, Chairman of the Dan Region Association of Towns, Vice Mayor of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Reuven Ladijansky were held.
The management of the Association informed about the history and accumulated unique experience of Hiriya, the successful practice of urban waste disposal, ensuring its reuse.
Special attention was drawn to the production line for recycling municipal waste into fuel for industrial enterprises (RDF - Refuse Derived Fuel), as well as to the Hiriya Center for Environmental Education "Made in Hiriya", which provides an opportunity for schoolchildren and students, all residents and visitors of Israel interested in ecology, to learn more about responsibility to nature and caring for the environment.
Resuming the visit, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan and the top managers of Hiriya agreed on joint steps to establish contacts between representatives of authorized ministries, interested municipalities and businessmen of the two countries to share best practices, as well as implement joint projects and initiatives in the fields of urban ecology and municipal waste recycling.

Nauryz Celebrated in Serbia

A cultural and educational event dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the event, the diplomatic club was introduced to the concept of celebrating Nauryz - "Nauryznama," symbolizing renewal, unity, and the continuity of cultural traditions. The festive program allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.
Guests were particularly impressed by the authentic traditional atmosphere: traditional Kazakh costumes, household items, including national tableware and the decoration of a yurt, were presented, reflecting the unique lifestyle and philosophy of nomadic culture.
During the event, guests also had the opportunity to taste traditional Kazakh cuisine.
The celebration of Nauryz in Belgrade has become an annual tradition since the opening of the diplomatic mission in 2019 and aims to further develop cultural ties and strengthen friendly relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Serbia.

Kazakh Culture Enchants Public in Singapore

A cultural event dedicated to Nauryz, a symbol of renewal, spring, and unity, was held as part of the Asia-Europe Foundation Open Day, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Singapore presented a national cultural programme that attracted significant interest from guests. In particular, members of the local Kazakh diaspora performed a traditional Kazakh dance showcasing the elegance of national choreography, and the renowned kui "Adai" by Kurmangazy was performed.
Among the guests were the leadership and staff of the Asia-Europe Foundation, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Singapore, international organisations, and members of the public.
Special attention was given to highlighting the significance of Nauryz as an ancient folk holiday symbolising renewal, harmony between humans and nature, mutual respect, and the strengthening of friendship among peoples.
Kazakhstan’s participation in the event contributed to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Asia and Europe, as well as promoting national traditions on the international stage.

A large-scale celebration of the spring festival Nauryz took place in Rotterdam, bringing together compatriots living in various cities across the Netherlands, as well as local guests interested in the culture and traditions of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the Netherlands branch of the World Association of Kazakhs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
Nauryz traditionally symbolizes renewal, harmony, and spiritual purification. In Kazakhstan, it is celebrated in an expanded format within the framework of the "Nauryznama" decade, reflecting the values of unity, social solidarity, and respect for the environment. In this context, particular attention is given to the nationwide "Taza Kazakhstan" (Clean Kazakhstan) initiative, aimed at fostering a culture of responsibility, cleanliness, and a constructive attitude towards the environment.
The festive programme featured performances by artists, national music and dances, as well as elements of traditional culture reflecting the rich historical and spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people. Guests had the opportunity to become acquainted with Kazakh customs and traditions of hospitality, and to enjoy traditional dishes, including Nauryz kozhe, kazy, baursaks, and other national delicacies.
Held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the celebration provided a platform for communication, strengthening cultural ties, and bringing together people of different generations and nationalities.

NASA successfully launches historic Artemis II moon mission

The Artemis II space mission has blasted off from the US state of Florida, sending four astronauts on a historic journey around the moon and marking the first time humans have travelled beyond low-Earth orbit in more than 50 years, aljazeera.com reports.
The mission, which launched on Wednesday, is a major step in the United States space agency NASA’s plan to return humans to the moon and eventually send astronauts to Mars.
The 32-storey rocket rose from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, where tens of thousands gathered to witness the liftoff.
The Artemis II crew - NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen - are set for a nearly 10-day journey around the moon and back, taking them farther into space than humans have travelled in decades.
On this historic mission, you take with you the heart of this Artemis team, the daring spirit of the American people and our partners across the globe, and the hopes and dreams of a new generation," said Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, the launch director. "Good luck, Godspeed Artemis II. Let’s go."
Five minutes into the flight, Wiseman, the commander, saw the team’s target: "We have a beautiful moonrise, we’re headed right at it," he said from the capsule.

Nauryz Celebrated in Egypt

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Egypt, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye , celebrated the great day of the Ulus - the holiday of Nauryz - at the residence of the Turkish Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
More than 120 guests took part in the organized festive event. Among them were representatives of the embassies of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and other countries, high-ranking officials from the Egyptian side and leading local media outlets.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Askar Zhengis congratulated guests on the Nauryz holiday. In his speech, he spoke in detail about the role of Nauryz in the Turkic world, noting that it is a holiday of peace, kindness, and cooperation.
Ambassador Zhengis also noted that every year on March 14, Kazakhstan marks the start of the nationwide Nauryznama Decade, which includes numerous large-scale events, including exhibitions, festivals, literary and musical evenings, charity events, cultural and sporting events, and much more.
As part of the Nowruz celebrations in Egypt also hosted fairs featuring national dishes from participating embassies.
Guests were presented with a variety of national dishes reflecting the rich traditions of Kazakhstan. The national dish "Nauryz kozhe" was of particular interest to the guests. In addition, as part of the festive program, guests were shown videos about the culture and traditions of Nauryz celebrations.
Kazakh youth studying in Egypt performed numbers on national instruments, which was highly appreciated by the guests. The organized cultural event was highly appreciated by local guests and contributed to strengthening cooperation between our peoples.

Air Astana cancels flights to Dubai until the end of April

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Air Astana has been forced to extend the suspension of scheduled flights to Dubai from Almaty and Astana from 1 to 30 April inclusive, Air Astana reports.
Passengers on cancelled flights are offered the following options:
- a full refund of the ticket price without any penalties;
- free rebooking onto flights to Dubai departing up to and including 30 June;
- rebooking without penalties to other destinations served by the airline, subject to any fare supplements and airport charges, with a departure date up to and including 30 June.
The airline continues to monitor developments in the Middle East closely.

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art hosted a ceremonial event celebrating Nauryz, an ancient holiday of spring renewal that symbolizes unity and the beginning of a new life cycle, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The event was jointly organized by the diplomatic missions of Central Asian countries and served as a platform for cultural dialogue and promoting public diplomacy.
As part of the program, Kazakhstan showcased the rich cultural heritage of its people through traditional national cuisine. Guests were offered key elements of the festive dastarkhan, including Nauryz kozhe, baursaks, zhent, and irimshik, reflecting the country’s centuries-old culinary traditions.
Particular attention was drawn to the installation of a traditional Kazakh yurt, which allowed visitors to explore elements of nomadic culture and everyday life. The exhibition was complemented by displays of Kazakh art, including handcrafted items and traditional jewelry.

Additional Almaty-Tashkent direct flight to be launched

Uzbekstan's Qanot Sharq Airlines has launched direct regular flights from Tashkent to Almaty, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The inaugural flight was welcomed at the Almaty International Airport with a traditional "water salute" and the first passengers were treated to sweets right at the gate.
Flights are operated three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, via Airbus A321neo aircraft, with a flight time of 1.5 hours.
Launch of the direct flight will further promote business relations, tourism, and cultural ties, strengthening Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation," the airport’s press service stated.
