During a trip to the Zhetysu region deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galiaskar Sarybaev and Amangeldy Tolamisov visited strategically important water management facilities, including the Tentek reservoir and the dam on the Karatal River, press service of the Senate reports.
These facilities of the Almaty branch of Kazvodkhoz JSC bear the main burden of providing the region's farmers with irrigation water and are currently in need of a major overhaul.
Previously, the deputies raised these problematic issues in their deputies' request. Based on its results, the authorized bodies took measures to allocate 21.8 million tenge from the state budget for the development of a safety declaration for the Tentek and Akeshki hydroelectric facilities, as well as formed budget applications for 2024-2026 for the allocation of funds for a multifactorial survey of the Almaly, Ashchibulak and development of a safety declaration for the Kurty reservoir.
In addition, the senators got acquainted with the progress of testing work at the Kyzylagash dam after the completion of major repairs at this facility.
